Sean Waltman On Green Kane: I Understand The Desire To See It, But It Wouldn’t Have Been Good For His Character

Plenty of fans wish that ‘Green Kane’ and his rumored DX attire was real, but X-Pac says it would have been a bad move for the character known as the “Big Red Machine.”

This week’s episode of Sean Waltman’s Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast featured Ryan Satin as a guest, and they got into a discussion about the rumored green Kane costume that was a mythical topic on message boards in the 1990s. Several photos have been shared on the internet but none of them were legitimate, and Waltman says it was a bad idea, no matter how much fans wanted to see it.

Satin started by explaining that he asked Kane (Glenn Jacobs) about the idea in a previous interview, and asked Waltman for his take on the infamous green ‘DX Kane.’ “No. That wouldn’t have been good. That’s too much,” Waltman said. After co-host Nick Hausman disagreed with Waltman and sided with Satin, Waltman said you could disagree with the notion all you want, but it would’ve been a bad idea.

“It wouldn’t have been good for him. Maybe everyone could’ve gone ‘Oh, we get to see him in green’ [once], but he’s not f-ckin’ DX! He’s Kane!” Waltman stated. “He’s the ‘Big Red Machine,’ he’s not the f-ckin’ ‘Big Green Machine,’ for f-ck’s sake!”

Hausman tried to point out that Kane’s first words on WWE TV were in fact a DX catchphrase (‘Suck It’), Waltman said it didn’t matter.

“No. Sorry, it would not have been good for him. It would be cool to see for a minute, but it wouldn’t have been good for him character-wise. It just wouldn’t, I promise you. I understand the desire to see it, but [it wouldn’t work],” Waltman said. “The mashed-up entrance that we did was about as far as it should’ve gone, and that was perfect.”

W. Morrissey was also a guest on this week’s episode of Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast where he confirmed how long he’s guaranteed to stick around with IMPACT Wrestling. You can check out his comments about his IMPACT run at this link.
