ROH Women’s Tournament Kicking Off On July 31 With Three First Round Matchups

The summer of women’s wrestling continues next weekend in Ring of Honor.

Ring of Honor has actively been building up and expanding their women’s division in recent months, in correlation with the upcoming Women’s Tournament, that will crown the inaugural ROH Women’s World Champion at Death Before Dishonor in September. ROH previously revealed the official bracket for the tournament at their Best in the World pay-per-view. Now, the chase to gold officially begins.

In the latest edition of the Eck’s Files, three first-round matchups were announced to be kicking off ROH’s Women’s Championship Tournament on the weekend of July 31st:

  • * Miranda Alize vs. Alex Gracia
  • * Mazzerati vs. Nicole Savoy
  • * Sumie Sakai vs. Rok-C

Chelsea Green recently made her debut for at ROH’s Best in the World, but was unable to participate in this tournament due to injury. However, she will be on commentary for the upcoming tournament.

However, one spot still remains in the tournament. Quinn McKay had previously competed against Mandy Leon on Ring of Honor television in hopes of solidifying her spot, but ultimately fell short, due to Angelina Love’s passing of brass knuckles to Leon, who then nailed McKay in the head with them to secure the victory.

Maria Kanellis-Bennett also confirmed that she will be making two announcements regarding the “tainted win” of Leon, and possibly the final spot in the tournament.

WrestleZone will keep you updated as more details become available.
