Chelsea Green is finally on the same page with Ring Of Honor.

Ring Of Honor confirmed Green is the next guest on their ROHStrong podcast that will premiere on Monday. In an excerpt published in this week’s edition of the “Eck’s Files” column, Green talked about how her appearance at Best In The World on July 11 was set into motion.

“I contacted Maria [Kanellis-Bennett] right away when I was released and I said, ‘I don’t know what you guys are doing but I want to be a part of Ring of Honor,’” Green said. “She was obviously very receptive. We’ve worked together in the past and have a great relationship, so I’m thankful for that. The funny thing is that logistically it wasn’t going to work because I had a 90-day non-compete with WWE and this fell on Day 86, I believe, something like that.

“So I was four days short of being able to compete in the women’s tournament or even be at Ring of Honor at the tapings. So I was really bummed about that. And then I thought I’m just going to take things into my own hands, and I contacted WWE and asked for a week off of my non-compete, and they actually granted me that week off, which was so shocking and such a pleasant surprise.”

Green went on to explain how she’d never had the right chance to work with Ring Of Honor before, but says it worked out in the best way this time.

“For some reason before I signed with WWE, Ring of Honor and I were like two ships passing in the night,” Green said. “We could just never get on the same page, whether it was dates, or times, or if they even needed another girl. So I think this all worked out in the most perfect and magical way.”

Green explained how she got out of the non-compete with WWE on a recent episode of her podcast, telling fans that she had requested being let out of the agreement once before but it was put on hold due to her arm injury. Green says she asked a second time after she completed her rehab with WWE and thanked John Laurinaitis for working with her on the situation.

“I was able to swindle myself a little deal with WWE and get myself on TV a little earlier, which would have, in theory, allowed me to be part of the Ring Of Honor tournament and pay-per-view. Honestly, I just need to stop there and give a huge shout-out to Johnny Ace [John Laurinaitis], who is—well, I don’t know his position at WWE actually because it’s ever-changing, but Johnny Ace is amazing. He’s been so helpful throughout this process of me being released. When I was first released, I went to him and actually asked him right away if I could forego my 90-day pay and get back onto the indies within the next week or two. And he was willing to do that for me, but unfortunately with the complications I had with my arm again—the never-ending complications with this arm—I had to get the plate removed from my arm and we just decided that it was best to not go ahead and break my contract.

“So when I contacted him this time around, which was about a month ago, and asked him if I could forego my last week of WWE pay to appear on the Ring Of Honor pay-per-view, obviously I was thinking there was no way in hell that he’d go for it, like not a fucking chance, but—mind blown—he contacted the lawyers at WWE and had me out of my contract on July 7, as opposed to July 14, by the end of the week you guys. So again, I am so grateful for Johnny Ace to say the least, he is the reason I was able to surprise the fans and show up at the pay-per-view. Him, and every single person at Ring Of Honor that let me do this. Ah! What a life, you guys. What a freakin’ life. Hopefully, I can keep just shocking you guys and popping up in places you least expect me to pop up in. Just keep watching, that’s all I have to say…”

Green also went into detail about how she plans to remain a free agent for the next several months; read her full remarks by clicking the link below:
