Jon Moxley Retains IWGP US Title Against Karl Anderson At AEW Dynamite: Fyter Fest Night 1

At AEW Dynamite: Fyter Fest Night One, Jon Moxley successfully defended the IWGP United States Championship against Karl Anderson. With the win, he set the record for most title defenses in the title’s history.

Anderson fought valiantly; he suplexed Moxley on the floor and controlled the match for stretches. The champion persevered and somewhat bent the rules to swing the momentum back in his favor by biting Anderson.

Anderson’s best efforts couldn’t keep Moxley down; in the end, the champion countered a diving cutter and ultimately hit Anderson with the Paradigm Shift for the victory.

After the bout, former IWGP United States Champion Lance Archer challenged Moxley for the title in a Texas Death Match next week at AEW Dynamite: Fyter Fest Night Two. Archer lost the title to Moxley in a match with the same stipulation. Later in the show, Moxley accepted the challenge.
