The fans of professional wrestling are always curious about what CM Punk is up to. The former WWE Champion constantly grabs the wrestling world’s attention as fans hope to see him return to the ring once again. Today CM Punk is in the news for a different reason, highlighting his dog Larry in association with PAWSChicago for their “Underdog to Wonderdog” campaign.

In the video posted below, CM Punk shares a heartwarming story about adopting Larry and meeting him for the first time, as well as what it means to have him as part of the family:

“My wife April and I would lay awake in bed and scan through adoption agencies,” CM Punk said. “And one night, she showed me a picture of Larry, and I just said, ‘Yes, that’s the one,’ he came with a record, he had like a pretty thick jacket of problems in the past, and so the first night I had Larry, I was all excited, and I took him on a walk, and I looked down at him, and he looked up at me, and I looked over here, and I looked back down, and he had a chicken wing in his mouth, and I was like, ‘Where’d you get that from?’ so I just innocently leaned down to grab it from him. And he bit my hand all up, but then he winced like he had been hit before, and I just shrugged it off, and I was like, ‘You can bite me all you want to, like, you’re not gonna get hit, not in this house that’s not how we operate,’ and it just showed me that he was in the right spot.

“I believe his personality to have been shaped by the two or three years that he was around before we got him. And you know it’s not his fault. He is a bit of a wild man; he’s a bit of a wolfman, he’s active, he runs around, he can get excited, he tries to match the level of energy in a room, he doesn’t like everybody, and that’s okay because me and my wife don’t like everybody and that’s also okay. He really is just all-around the perfect fit for our house.

“I knew when I first met Larry; he’s gonna be a handful. You know he wasn’t a dog that you were just going to be able to coast with, you had to give him attention, and you had to give him love, and I never thought he could be this good. But, you know, he’s like a Sour Patch Kid; he’s sweet, and he’s sour, and it just depends on his mood. I definitely think if we didn’t rescue him, I don’t think he would have made it. I think he’s a perfect fit for this house. A lot of people are looking for this perfect animal, and Larry is perfect for us, but that by no means makes him, he brings me so much joy, and I never would have found that in the puppy mill or a purebred dog.”
