Anna Jay Doesn’t Have A Timeframe For Return From Injury, Says Recovery Is Still Going On Track

Anna Jay is on the mend, but she’s still not sure when we’ll see her back in an AEW ring.

Anna Jay and Tay Conti were the latest guests on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast, with this episode being guest-hosted by (The IIconics) Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay.

During the show, Cassie Lee asked Anna Jay about her recovery from her shoulder injury and how things were progressing. Anna Jay went into detail about the injury, which caused her to be pulled from the AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament in February, and explained how it happened.

“Unfortunately, I don’t know if the surgery was not what it was supposed to be or recovery, anything like that, I’m not sure. I ended up tearing my labrum in my shoulder again in training,” she explained. “Same arm, same tear, everything. They just think maybe that the first surgery was not 100% well done, and yeah, I just tore my labrum and found out—obviously I was really bummed out—but I’m hoping, fingers crossed, that this surgery is the charm and I don’t have to worry about this ever again. Unfortunately, injuries are part of what we do, so…”

Later in the show, Anna went into more detail about her injury and said she’s still not sure when she’ll be ready to return. At the time of the initial injury announcement, it was estimated that she would miss between 6-12 months due to the injury, but now says they don’t have a set timeframe.

“I don’t really know. I know everything’s going on track how it should. Of course, the doctors don’t really want to say [a timeframe] just because it could change and I don’t really know, but everything’s going as it should. Obviously, I hope sooner than later, but then again, I’m not rushing it. So, I don’t really have a timeframe yet, but we’ll see.”

Anna noted that she had surgery on March 11 and she’s feeling good and pretty normal, but it’s not ‘wrestling normal’ yet.
