Kenny Omega put his AEW World Championship on the line during tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, when he took on Jungle Boy in a big match. In brutal match, Omega came away with the big win, retaining his title in grand fashion.
From the very start, it was clear that Jungle Boy wasn’t afraid of going up against one of the biggest stars in All Elite Wrestling. He was able to survive nearly everything that Omega threw at him, including a huge superplex from Omega that looked like it could potentially end things before Jungle Boy kicked out. As the match began to wind down, though, Omega came alive, hitting Jungle Boy with a brainbuster before hitting a V-Trigger on him.
As he went for the One-Winged Angel, Jungle Boy tried to roll Omega up, but the champ kicked out, only to have Jungle Boy reverse it into a snare trap hold. After looking like he was going to have to tap out, Omega began pulling on Jungle Boy’s hair, before finally gouging his eyes to break the hold. Omega followed that up with another V-Trigger before hitting a Tiger Driver ’98, before finally ending the match with the One-Winged Angel for the win.
