Eva Marie Confirms Her Protege’s Name Is ‘Doudrop’, Asuka & Naomi Qualify For Money In The Bank

It’s Doudrop’s time to shine… almost.

Eva Marie formally introduced her new “protégé” as Doudrop on this week’s episode of WWE RAW. During a backstage promo ahead of their Money In The Bank qualifying match, Eva Marie explained her lack of participation during last week’s in-ring return.

According to Eva Marie, she came down with a cold after getting a mani-pedi and didn’t want to disappoint her fans that looked forward to her return. In response, she took her new pupil under her wing. Eva then introduced the former Piper Niven (who looked as if she wanted to say her name was Piper) as “Doudrop”, which left the former NXT UK star with a confused look on her face.

The new alliance looked to be short-lived, however, as Asuka and Naomi still picked up the win over Eva and Doudrop on RAW, making them the first two names to qualify for the Women’s Money In The Bank match. The match ended after Eva Marie called for a tag, but Doudrop dropped from the apron and refused to tag in. Naomi then used the distraction to take down Eva and pick up the win for her team.

WWE applied to trademark “Doudrop” on June 14, and the application was entered in the database on Thursday. Niven just debuted on RAW last week; Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp later reported that “Doudrop” was pitched as a name for her to use on the main roster.

Asuka and Naomi were later joined by Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss as confirmed competitors in the women’s Money In The Bank ladder match.
