Fight On The Farm Between Mark And Jay Briscoe Announced For ROH Wrestling On The Weekend Of July 3

Mark and Jay Briscoe will make history when they collide in the first Fight on the Farm in Ring of Honor history.

Together, The Briscoes are one of the most successful tag teams of this era. They have held the ROH World Tag Team Championship 11 times, and the duo has also won the IWGP Tag Team Championship, among several other titles. But the brothers have been at odds recently. Even when they tried to settle their differences in a singles match on the 500th Episode of ROH Wrestling. a countout win for Mark wasn’t satisfactory for either man. When the duo lost a heated tag team match to Flip Gordon and EC3 in May, the writing was on the wall.

In a video clip that aired this past weekend on ROH Wrestling, Mark and Jay started arguing about the loss until Papa Briscoe intervened. He told the brothers to face off in a Fight on the Farm. This clash will air on ROH Wrestling the weekend of July 3.

The official announcement from the ROH website is as follows:

Sometimes you need to take a step back before you can move forward.

Jay and Mark Briscoe have been unable to resolve the issues between them that began toward the end of last year, so the patriarch of the clan believes there’s only one thing left to do.

For his sons to get back on the same page and resume being the baddest tag team on the planet, Papa Briscoe said they need to go back to their roots and fight it out.

Jay and Mark will go to war in a Fight on the Farm in Sandy Fork, Del., on Ring of Honor Wrestling the weekend of July 3.

“They grew up fighting each other, competing against each other, whether it be football, baseball or boxing, on the farm,” Papa Briscoe said on the ROHStrong Podcast. “They have tried everything you can think of to get this resolved and to get past this but it hasn’t happened. So the only place it can happen is down home on the farm, down where it all started. We will get it resolved.”

Jay and Mark don’t agree on much these days, but neither of them is convinced that the Fight on the Farm will solve their problems.

“I wish I could see that far in the future, but I can’t,” Jay said. “At this point I’m only seeing red and I see Mark’s head, and I’m gonna put his ass on the wall like a damn mantle, like a deer that I shot out in the woods with 12 damn points on his head like a damn big ass buck. I’m gonna whoop his ass, put him on the wall.”

Mark said: “Twenty-one years is a long time to be in a partnership with a man like Jay Briscoe, and it’s tiresome. I guess we’ll see how it goes. Dad seems to have a lot of faith and hope that it’s gonna make things better, but we’ll see.”
