IMPERIUM vs. Breezango
Achiner and Barthel work over Fandango’s arm. Fandango counters a sunset flip into a leg drop. Breeze missed a splash to the outside. Fandango dives over the top and on Barthel and Achiner. Fandango goes up top. Barthel rolls Breeze into the ring to distract Fandango. Aichner slamms Fandango off the top rope. After the break, Fandango manages to tag in Breeze. Aichner destroys Breeze with a lariat. Aichner tries to suplex Breeze but Breeze turns it into a small package for the win!
Winners- Breezango
After the match Aichner and Barthel attack Breeze. Aichner and Barthel drop Breeze with the European Bomb. Aichner and Barthel drap an IMPERIUM flag on Breeze.
Backstage, Regal is standing between O’Reilly and Cole who are being held back by security. Regal tells them both that they can fight at The Great American Bash. O’Reilly leaps onto Cole and the two trade strikes. Samoa Joe charges in and separates them. Cole pushes Joe out of the way and continues his assault on O’Reilly. Joe takes off his suit jacket and puts Cole in the Coquina Clutch. Cole passes out almost instantly. Joe drops Cole. Joe yells at a stagehand to tell Cole when he wakes up Regal expects his decision.
Backstage, Santos Escobar complains about Bronson Reed putting him through a wall. Escobar says he wants Reed 1-on-1. Escobar promises to be the next North American Champion.
NXT Cruiserweight Championship Open Challenge Match: Kushida (c) vs. Trey Baxter
Kushida takes Baxter down and rides his back. Baxter gets to his feet and rolls up Kushida for a near fall. After a series of tackles and dropdowns, Kushida almost locks in the Hoverboard Lock. Baxter counters and hits a ranna. After a bit of miscommunication, Baxter kicks Kushida in the knee. Kushida falls off the apron. Baxter crushes Kushida with a Fosbury Flop to the outside. Kyle O’Reilly walks out on the ramp to watch the match.
After the break, Baxter avoids Kushida’s patented handspring attack into a neutralizer. Kushida lands a palm strike. Baxter catches Kushida in a standing Spanish fly. Baxter hits a springboard 450 for a near fall. Baxter sits Kushida on the top rope. Kushida counters and hits an arm breaker off the top rope. Kushida PKs Baxter’s arm. Kushida rolls Baxter into the Hoverboard Lock. Baxter taps out immediately.
Winner and STILL NXT Cruiserweight Championship, Kushida!
After the match, O’Reilly says he doesn’t want to accept Kushida’s open challenge, but he does want to face him next week. Kushida accepts.
