Chris Jericho says Mark Henry’s presence in All Elite Wrestling makes them a better company overall.

Chris Jericho took part in a post-show media scrum after AEW Double Or Nothing concluded and was asked about Mark Henry signing with AEW. Jericho said he’s excited for the experience Henry brings to AEW and said it makes the company better for having him on board.

“Super excited to have Mark. [He] made a huge appearance tonight and you’re gonna hear everything that he has to say on Friday. I know that he has a lot to say, he never stops talking. I think anytime we can have a guy with the experience of Mark Henry, both in the ring and outside of the ring, he just helps our company. That’s one of the things that we need, we needed very much,” Jericho said. “When we first started because it was basically me and Dustin Rhodes and Dean Malenko, we were the guys that had decades of experience on live TV.

“Here we are a year and a half later our guys and girls are still learning, so having a guy like Mark come in, same thing as having a guy like Paul Wight come in, he can do anything behind the scenes, he can do anything in front of the scenes, he can talk, he can maybe one day put on the knee pads and boots and wrestle again. I don’t know, put on a salmon-colored sports coat and go crazy again,” Jericho noted, “but to have a guy like Mark come in and I’m not just saying this because he’s here—the quality of person and the quality of performer, it just makes us a better company.”

On Tuesday, AEW confirmed Henry signed a multi-year contract that will see him serve as a member of both the broadcast and talent development teams. Henry will also make his first official appearance as a member of the AEW roster this Friday on a special episode of Dynamite.
