WWE Confirms Jimmy Smith Is WWE RAW’s Newest Commentator

Update: WWE issued the following statement, confirming Smith’s new role with the company:

WWE today announced that Jimmy Smith will debut as the play-by-play voice for Monday Night Raw starting this Monday, May 31 at 8/7c on USA Network.

Recently, Smith served as an analyst for NXT, where he hosted NXT TakeOver pre-show panels and worked on special projects for the black-and-gold brand. He is also the daily host of SiriusXM’s “Unlocking the Cage” and was the host of “American Ninja Warrior” on G4.

Smith will be joined at ringside for every Monday Night Raw by analysts Corey Graves and Byron Saxton.


WWE already has its new man for Monday nights.

According to Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, longtime MMA broadcaster Jimmy Smith will reportedly join WWE as the lead play-by-play announcer on the WWE RAW commentary team.

It was reported yesterday, that current Monday Night RAW play-by-play voice Adnan Virk had mutually parted ways with WWE after only seven weeks with the company.

The 43-year-old Smith will be heading up play-by-play duties for the first-time in his career as he’s best known for his run as lead analyst with Bellator MMA, UFC and most recently Invicta FC.
