W. Morrissey Calls Current IMPACT Roster A ‘Recipe For Success’, Says It’s A Team Effort

W. Morrissey is confident he can be another piece that helps IMPACT Wrestling find even greater success.

W. Morrissey recently spoke with WrestleZone about joining IMPACT Wrestling and establishing himself as a singles star. Asked if the idea that IMPACT was helping underutilized talent succeed went into his decision-making process, Morrissey agreed that the talent roster definitely had some influence on his choice.

“I mean yeah, there’s a lot of guys there that I know personally and I respect as talent and yeah, there’s guys that maybe like you said, didn’t get a fair shake or considered underrated, that I would like to work with. It’s a team effort, man, so there’s no one that’s going to walk through the door at IMPACT and just take the company to the top of the wrestling world. It’s a team effort and I think the team in place, right now, at IMPACT, is a recipe for success. There’s so many incredibly talented guys and women there, that’s something I definitely looked at when I was watching the product quite a bit before I signed,” he said. “I just really, really liked the television product and I really, really liked the people that are on the show.”

While Morrissey is primarily known for his work as a tag team wrestler, he did branch out on his own towards the end of his WWE run, and later on the independent scene. Asked what match from his career would best represent his work to that point, Morrissey said he was proud of his final WWE TV match against Daniel Bryan.

“Probably my last television match with WWE.  It was with Daniel Bryan in Chicago at Money In The Bank in 2018. I was in there with one of the best in the world, perhaps one of the best of all-time but I do think that match showcased my talents more than any other match that I was in.”

Since joining IMPACT Wrestling, Morrissey has gone undefeated in five matches so far; his last match was a win over Rich Swann at IMPACT’s Against All Odds special.
