Drew McIntyre Helps Kofi Kingston Beat Bobby Lashley In Non-Title Match

Tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW opened with MVP and Bobby Lashley celebrating Lashley’s successful WWE Championship defense at WrestleMania Backlash. MVP also issued an open challenge on behalf of Lashley, and Drew McIntyre initially accepted the invitation.

But MVP quickly told “The Scottish Warrior” that the challenge wasn’t open to him. McIntyre didn’t seem to care too much, and he chose to assault Lashley instead. Later in the night, Lashley’s challenge was finally answered by none other than Kofi Kingston. The former WWE Champion made his way down to the ring and try his luck against Lashley.

Unfortunately for Kingston, MVP quickly stepped in to say that the match wouldn’t be for the title, as Kingston didn’t deserve to even be in the same ring as Lashley. Almost immediately, Lashley dropped Kingston with a massive spinebuster. From there, Kingston came to life, as he got out of a vertical suplex attempt from Lashley and hit him with a handful of kicks to the head. He then sent the champion to the outside before he dove over the ropes onto him.

As the match continued, both superstars flashed some impressive skill in keeping the contest a heated battle, as Kingston used Xavier Woods and his trombone to his advantage. Toward the end of the match, Woods even got involved by helping pull Kingston off of Lashley outside of the ring. The referee then ejected Woods from ringside. As the two men argued, Lashley attempted to have MVP hit Kingston with his cane, but McIntyre appeared out of nowhere. He grabbed the cane from Lashley and hit him in the stomach with it.

A dazed Lashley fell back into the ring, where Kingston quickly pinned him for the stunning win. Lashley and MVP were enraged by this result, but McIntyre, Woods, and Kingston all celebrated outside of the ring, as the trio laughed at the turn of events to close the show.
