Darby Allin And Sting Got Pulled Over Three Times While Filming Their AEW Revolution Entrance

Darby Allin and Sting participated in a cinematic street fight at AEW Revolution. The match was unforgettable, but in an appearance on ESPN Sportsnation, Allin explained how the process of filming his entrance with “The Icon” was memorable for perhaps the wrong reasons.

“We were filming that entrance and we got pulled over three times by the cops,” said Allin.

“They just saw me, they just saw me standing down the street where it was like three in the morning, and I was in my face paint, speeding in a truck. They were pretty, they were like, ‘What’s going on here?’ And I was like, ‘It’s for professional wrestling, AEW.”

In the interview, Allin also described his influences as a director. The AEW TNT Champion is known for his creative vignettes, and he credited Todd Phillips, the director of “Joker”, as an inspiration.

“I would say guys like Todd Phillips, or anybody in the sense that would do like crazy documentaries,” said Allin. “Todd Phillips did stuff like that. That raw, gritty type filming, I love that. I live for that, just that really crazy, crazy style of directing where you don’t know what’s going to happen.”
