Chris Jericho On Blood And Guts: The Pinnacle Will Have To Kill Us To Beat Us

The Pinnacle and The Inner Circle met in the ring tonight ahead of next week’s AEW Blood and Guts show, and the parley between the two groups got headed. What started as a discussion turned into a screaming match, and it ended with Chris Jericho saying The Inner Circle will have to be killed to lose next week.

As both groups made their way into the ring, the first order of business was deciding how their upcoming War Games match would begin. Shawn Spears had no interest in that, though, and he quickly slapped a coin out of Tony Schiavone’s hand. Spears said that The Pinnacle should get an advantage because they were tricked into the match, and he asked Sammy Guevara how long it’s been since he wrestled. He went on to imply that Jericho was leading Guevara into a bad place. “The Sexy Spanish God” subsequently stated that he’ll enter the match first, giving Pinnacle the advantage in the process.

FTR spoke next and told Santana & Ortiz not to come out during the match as the soft versions of themselves that have been around Jericho. They said that this match will be unlike anything they’ve ever competed in, and they’ll do anything it takes to win. Next, MJF stepped to the mic and complimented Jericho’s importance as a crucial building block of AEW. But he then shifted gears by saying that there’s too much pressure on Jericho, so next week he’ll put the former champion down in a humane act.

Finally, Jericho grabbed the microphone and tore into The Pinnacle. Calling MJF a “self-righteous little prick,” Jericho said the young star won’t inherit his spot the way he did his trust fund. Jericho made it clear that he’s proud of the journey he took to AEW. He went on to question how long The Pinnacle has been together and whether they are willing to put their family above everything the way he is. He ended his message by saying that The Pinnacle will have to kill him in order to win next week, and that 2021 will produce the summer of pain and violence for The Pinnacle.
