Apollo Crews Says You’ll Find Out Who His New Friend Is Later, Dedicates His Title Win To Nigeria

Apollo Crews says all that matters is he won the Intercontinental Championship.

Crews was interviewed after he defeated Big E for the title at WrestleMania 37 on Sunday, claiming that it doesn’t matter how he won the title, all that mattered was he is the champion and he kept his promise.

“It does not matter. The fact is that I won the Intercontinental [Championship]. Look at the size of this man—but don’t worry about that. You’ll find out who this is later, but right now what matters,” he explained, “is that Apollo Crews did exactly what he said he was going to do and that is win the Intercontinental Championship.”

Crews went on to brag about beating Big E in front of his hometown crowd, including “everybody he played high school football with’.

“The best thing about it is now, now my ancestors can rejoice, now my family can dance. I made them proud, and now I am the Intercontinental Champion.” Crews stated. “This one is for Nigeria.”

It’s worth noting that despite selling it on TV like Crews’ new heater is a mystery fan, many fans recognize him as Babatunde of NXT, or Dabba-Kato from his appearances on RAW Underground. While he hasn’t had a “match” on RAW, he did compete in several of the Underground fights and was officially drafted to RAW as part of the 2020 Draft in October. It has been speculated that his new name will be “Commander Azeez”, a name WWE recently applied to trademark.
