Finn Balor has a huge match coming up at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, when he’ll take on Karrion Kross in a match for the NXT Championship. Ahead of that, he spoke with WWE Now India about it, and his career, in a new interview.
In the interview, Balor was asked about his upcoming match against Kross, and how it’s been a dream match for NXT fans ever since Kross entered the company. However, Balor noted that while fans may have wanted him to drop back into his iconic Demon persona, he feels as if that would be a step back for him. “But for me, in this moment of my career, I feel like The Demon would be a step back,” he said. “I feel like right now with my ring work as The Prince, I feel very comfortable, I feel very controlled, I feel very confident, and I feel that’s the direction I have to go at TakeOver.”
Balor went on to confirm that no Demon would be showing up at TakeOver, but that fans would see a darker side of The Prince. “There’s gonna be a very, very dark side of The Prince that is gonna meticulously take apart Karrion Kross.”
