The New Day are now 11-time WWE Tag Team Champions following their defeat of Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin on the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw.

The usual babyfaces faced more online criticism than ever before with some fans being upset that they were giving another Tag Team Championship reign by ending the first reign of The Hurt Business.

Speaking after the match to WWE digital, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods openly addressed the critics saying that they shouldn’t be mad at New Day for doing their jobs. They should be mad at their favorites for not stepping up to the plate.

“A lot of people are upset. [Saying,] ‘Oh, we’re tired of seeing New Day as the champions!’ Don’t be mad at us. Be mad at Cedric, be mad at Shelton for not being to keep the Tag Team Championships. Be mad at all your favorite tag teams for not being able to step up against your boys. Be mad at them. Don’t be mad at us for doing our job. All we do is we go out there, we entertain, and we win championships, that’s it. Don’t be mad at us, be mad at your favorites.”

Xavier Woods would add that they have been frothing-at-the-mouth for new teams to step up to the plate. Well, one new team has stepped up to the plate. AJ Styles and his massive bodyguard, Omos, will be challenging Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods for the titles at WWE WrestleMania 37 taking place the weekend of April 10 and 11 live exclusively on Peacock in the United States.
