Report: Potential COVID-19 Outbreak At WWE PC To Cause Changes To NXT This Week

The WWE Performance Center and, by extension, WWE NXT could be facing another outbreak of COVID-19.

According to both Fightful Select and Mike Johnson of PWInsider, multiple sources have confirmed that several positive COVID-19 tests at the WWE Performance Center are expected to impact Wednesday night’s episode of NXT. WWE has reportedly suggested that multiple people should quarantine due to these positive tests.

“There had been talk about potential outbreaks over the last several days and that talents and staff are currently undergoing testing,” wrote Johnson. “PWInsider.com has been told there have been quite a few positives over the last several days, although for obvious reasons, those who have tested positive are being kept private.”

Johnson’s report suggests that a large gathering of talent from the Performance Center/NXT talent that was doing ring crew could have been the source of the outbreak. He cited a source who stated that many of these people weren’t wearing masks. The source also noted that the enforcement of masks should be more strict than it has been.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer has confirmed the news.

The WWE Performance Center has faced several COVID-19 outbreaks throughout the pandemic, particularly during the fall of 2020.
