NJPW Reportedly Scraps Plans For Marty Scurll, Pulls Him From New Japan Strong Tapings

If recent reports are to be believed, don’t expect to see Marty Scurll on New Japan Pro-Wrestling’ programming any time soon.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer confirmed the Super J-Cast podcast’s report that the plans for Scurll have been dropped.

Just like week, it was reported that Scurll was set to participate in NJPW tapings, where he was set to begin a program of some sort with Rocky Romero. But the fans’ outcry in the wake of this news may have influenced NJPW.

Controversy has surrounded Scurll in recent months. He acknowledged a sexual encounter with a then-16-year-old female, who later stated that Scurll assaulted her. Scurll subsequently explained that the interaction was consensual.

Various rumors  have suggested that Scurll could be bound for WWE or, previously, NJPW, but his future in wrestling is unclear.
