2K Employees Present At Royal Rumble Today, Working On Next Video Game

It seems like after a one year hiatus, plans for the next ‘WWE 2K’ video game are solidly in motion at this time.

Mike Johnson at PWInsider reports that there are plenty of 2K representatives backstage at WWE’s Royal Rumble today getting work completed on superstar voice-overs. This is an interesting concept considering that past editions of the game have featured mostly generic voice-work and not that of the actual superstars themselves.

Word backstage is also that the entire roster will be getting scanned for future editions of the game. In year’s prior, only some of the roster would be scanned for the new game. The remaining superstars would either get their scans used from past games or have their character created using the in-game mechanics.

It certainly appears that 2K is taking the game much more serious. Click here to read an article we published where WWE 2K developers discuss using ‘No Mercy’ and ‘Here Comes The Pain’ for inspiration on the next game.
