Details Behind The Jungle Boy vs. Dax Harwood Bout On AEW Dynamite

The wrestling talk of Wednesday evening happened to be the stand-out bout between Jungle Boy and Dax Harwood on AEW Dynamite. Fans, colleagues and writers alike had high praise for the two tag competitors as they took to the singles seas in what ended up being a major highlight for the program and as Dave Meltzer notes, that’s with good reason.

Meltzer is reporting in his latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that it was Dax Harwood who put together the angle between he and Jungle Boy Jack Perry in an effort to get the young star coming out of it as a superstar babyface. Harwood presented the angle to Tony Khan and after that, the two contrasting styles worked their magic in the ring.

Both Tully Blanchard and Cash Wheeler happened to be handcuffed to Luchasaurus in an effort to prevent any sort of interference occurring in the match. Ultimately, it worked, but the fallout from Jungle Boy’s “clean as a sheet” submission win ended up having some repercussions for Jurassic Express.  Luchasaurus found the horns of his mask snipped off by FTR as he was draped over the apron in handcuffs after Tully threw salt in his dinosaur eyes. The same nearly happened to Jungle Boy’s locks before SCU and a chair-wielding Marko Stunt came in for the save. Meltzer notes that Dax Harwood hadn’t lost a fall in AEW up until this submission victory against Jungle Boy.
