Daniel Bryan Reportedly ‘Pushing’ To Get More NXT Talent Up On SmackDown

Out of almost anyone on the WWE roster, Daniel Bryan knows a thing or two about fighting his way to the top of WWE’s main event, and he appears to be wanting to give some fresh faces that same opportunity on Friday Night SmackDown.

Dave Melter writes in his latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that Bryan, who has had a creative influence on the SmackDown brand has been a big advocate for getting NXT talent up on their program as a means to freshen the show up a little bit.

Bryan’s icthy finger for the gold phone of NXT comes after Meltzer’s report that Damian Priest was originally slated to debut on SmackDown as a tag team partner and “friend” of Kevin Owens. Owens, happens to be deep in a feud with Roman Reigns and plans were for Owens to tag up with Priest in a match against The Tribal Chief and Jey Uso. Owens, although up for it, found holes in the logic of he and Priest having any sort of friendship as they shared no past with one another. Reigns agreed with KO and the idea was ultimately nixed. Meltzer reports that as of now, Priest is angled to show up on RAW in about a month’s time, but does note that plans could always change.
