The NXT women’s tag team of Baymella made a surprise return on WWE SmackDown tonight.
While it was known that the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship would be defended tonight, it wasn’t announced who Asuka and Charlotte Flair would be going up against. It wound up being a triple threat elimination match that saw the champions face off against Carmella & Bayley and Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair.

It was another one of Bayley’s former tag partners that wound up ruining the reunion of Baymella as Banks pinned Bayley to eliminate them first. However, the tag champs would wind up retaining their belts after Flair pinned Belair, who was by herself after the heel team attacked Banks, to make their first successful title defense.
