In-Ring Segment: The Undisputed Era
Cole asks if The UE looks dead to anyone. Pat McAfee claims that The UE is dead. This isn’t the first time someone has thought that but it will never happen. Cole says he can’t wait to be face-to-face with McAfee. Cole can’t wait until McAfee is trapped in the match that The UE made famous in NXT. They have to focus on tonight’s WarGames advantage match. O’Reilly says he NEEDS to face Pete Dunne tonight. Cole says Dunne is going to face an angry Kyle O’Reilly. This is a different Kyle O’Reilly. At WarGames, McAfee and Co will face a different Undisputed Era. Cole says they are going to make sure their opponents are never the same again.
Backstage, LeRae introduces us to her WarGames team, Kai, Gonzalez, and Toni Storm. Storm says she told everyone that when she came to NXT it was going to be a new Toni Storm.
Timothy Thatcher vs. Kushida
As the match starts Tommaso Ciampa walks down to ringside with a chair. Ciampa takes a seat to watch the match. Thatcher and Kushida roll around on the mat, neither man can get an early advantage. Kushida puts Thatcher in a deathlock. Thatcher reverses it into a submission of his own. Kushida fights out of the hold. Hip toss into a dropkick by Kushida. Kushida tries to knock Thatcher off the apron with a handspring attack but Thatcher clutches Kushida’s leg and locks in a submission. The referee makes Thatcher break the hold after a five-count.
After the break, Kushida tries to lock in the Hoverboard Lock. Thatcher turns that into a submission of his own. Kushida and Thatcher trade submission attempts. Kushida sends Thatcher into the ring steps shoulder first. Thatcher’s face is bleeding. Kushida works over Thatcher’s arm. Thatcher suplexes Kushida. Thatcher spends too much time focused on Ciampa, which allows Kushida to put Thatcher in the Hoverboard Lock. Thatcher taps out.
Winner- Kushida
Ciampa walks up to a camera and says maybe Thatcher has a problem with him now. Thatcher is seething.
