Triple Threat To Determine Drew McIntyre’s Next Challenger Set For Next Week

Adam Pearce devised a competitive way to determined WWE Champion Drew McIntyre’s next challenger. In a series of three matches, a trio of superstars would qualify for a triple threat match on next week’s show. The winner of that match will go on to challenge McIntyre. The matches consisted of Team RAW and other top stars on the red brand. Ultimately, AJ Styles, Keith Lee and Riddle won their matches to advance to the triple threat match.

First, Riddle faced Sheamus in a hard-hitting match where both men went to war. Riddle emerged victorious when he rolled Sheamus up.

Later, Keith Lee faced WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley in a clash of two powerhouses. Both men exchanged thunderous moves, but the interference of MVP gave Lashley a crucial advantage. Still, Lee persevered and trucked over Lashley at ringside. But MVP shoved Lee into the ring post, and the blow almost left Lee susceptible to The Hurt Lock. MVP attacked Lee, so the referee called the bell and disqualified Lashley. As a result, Lee won the match and advanced to next week’s triple threat match.

Finally, in the main event, Randy Orton faced AJ Styles in the main event. Orton briefly gained the upper hand early on, but the bout was evenly matched. Styles took control by suplexing Orton onto the broadcast table.

Styles targeted Orton’s leg throughout the match and later locked in the Calf Crusher. Near the end of the match, The Fiend’s music played and distracted Orton. But he refocused and set Styles up for an RKO. Then, The Fiend’s music played again, and he got in Orton’s face. Styles capitalized with a Phenomenal Forearm to win the match.

Braun Strowman cost himself the chance to participate in the qualifiers when he struck Pearce. After his assault, Strowman was sent home early in the show.
