Report by Colin Tessier for Wrestlezone.com

Quinn McKay welcomes viewers to the show, and a video clip recaps Jonathan Gresham’s  victory in the Ring of Honor Pure Tournament. After the match, Gresham says being the champion gives him a lot of responsibility. He says RUSH is not the champion this company needs, so the ROH Pure Championship should be on the same level as the world title. Gresham says he has the responsibility to uphold the company’s legacy, and he’ll bring ROH back to prominence and prosperity. He says this is the beginning of a new era.

In a video package, Dak Draper explains why he’s the Mile High Magnum. He says he’s always been held to high standards, and he loves being the center of attention. Draper recaps his background as a successful amateur wrestler and even mentions his WWE contract. He says his time with the company didn’t help him grow a lot, and he only started having fun when he went elsewhere.

Draper says he’s refocused on the basics and his background as an amateur wrestler. He recaps his past with Brian Johnson and says “The Mecca” is jealous of him.

In another video package, Johnson recaps his background and love for wrestling. He describes his training as a wrestler and his pattern of outworking everyone. He says everyone forgot about him when Draper showed up. He says he’s tired of failing, and wrestling is his life, so everyone will know that it’s Mecca vs. everybody.

Pure Rules: Dak Draper vs. Brian Johnson

Johnson talks some trash at the beginning of the match. He punches Draper in the face, and the blow earns him a warning. Draper takes Johnson to the mat , but the Mecca sends him to the outside and dives onto him. A clothesline earns Johnson a two count.

Draper punches Johnson in the face, and he gets a warning. Both men go crashing to the floor with a crossbody over the ropes. Draper slams Johnson for a two count. The “Mile High Magnum” suplexes Johnson and grounds him. Draper continues to overpower Johnson, but the “Mecca” rallies and plants Draper with an Ace Crusher for a two count.

The rivals trade several pin attempts, and Johnson nearly steals the win by putting his feet on the ropes. Johnson hesitates when he tries to punch Draper, and the pause causes him, as Draper hits the Magnum K.O. for the win.
