The competitors lock up and exchange technical holds. Sydal targets Gresham’s knee. Gresham takes Sydal to the mat and twists his ankle. He locks in a Calf Killer, but Sydal fights out of it. Sydal rocks Gresham with a kick to the leg and twists Gresham’s ankle. Gresham wrenches Sydal’s leg and rocks him with a chop.

Sydal rallies, and both men exchange submission holds. Gresham chops Sydal and rocks him with a back elbow. Sydal drops Gresham with a kick and fires back with his own chops. He hits a Dragon Screw and targets Gresham’s leg. Gresham nearly steals the win with a crucifix pin. Gresham hits a Stunner and gets a near fall with a pin. Sydal floors Gresham with a kick.
