Report: WWE Planning To Host WrestleMania 37 In Tampa

Update: F4WOnline.com‘s Dave Meltzer also confirmed Inside The Ropes’ report about WWE planning to move the WrestleMania 37 venue.

My News / Spectrum Sports’ Jon Alba shared the following statement from WWE in response to today’s report regarding the WrestleMania 37 venue:

“We have nothing to report and given the current environment, we continue to monitor locations for all of our potential events.”

WrestleVotes also claims WWE has had Tampa listed internally as the host city for WrestleMania 37 for over a month now. It was noted that Los Angeles and WWE will now need to “battle it out” to see which side can legally cancel the event at SoFi.

Inside The Ropes is reporting on a few moves that could indicate that WWE is sticking close to its current base of operations for 2021’s WrestleMania.  While the company has already started advertising an event in Hollywood for next year, sources close to the situation are instead claiming that WWE will try to return to Raymond James Stadium, the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the home that was supposed to house 2020’s event.

This means that a lot about this year’s WrestleMania is up in the air. The date (currently set to March 28th, 2021) is not set in stone, but WWE has put in reservations for the surrounding buildings in Tampa across WrestleMania weekend just in case.

WWE is due to leave the WWE ThunderDome in the Amway Center soon. While Triple H has confirmed that touring will likely not resume for a good while, there will be a new location in the company’s immediate future. It’s highly likely that the federation will attempt to stay in Florida, which would explain why WrestleMania is also allegedly staying put in the Sunshine State.
