Deonna Purrazzo Pulls Out Of Bookings At The Collective

Deonna Purrazzo will not be appearing at The Collective after all.

Days after she had been announced as one of the competitors at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, Purrazzo took to Twitter to announce she won’t be making the trip to The Collective’s weekend slate of events after all. “The Virtuosa” assures fans that her decision is just a pre-emptive one and she’s just focused on minimizing risks and staying healthy leading into Bound For Glory.

Purrazzo will defend her IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Championship against Kylie Rae at Bound For Glory on October 24. Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport is still scheduled to go on as planned on October 11, at the Marion County Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Watch List takes a look at what matches you should be watching while you’re at home and they come recommended by your favorite professional wrestling stars.

WrestleZone recently spoke with Deonna Purrazzo and she named off a couple of favorite matches. First up was a match with Karen Q from Ring Of Honor’s Survival Of The Fittest event in 2017, where she said she got to show a different side instead of the technical wrestling she is most known for.

“Two come to mind and one was a match that I was in myself, probably one of my all-time favorite matches that I’ve ever had. It’s myself versus Karen Q in Dallas, Texas in a No DQ match. She’s one of my best friends and we were in this rivalry and I got to show a different side of myself that isn’t so much “The Virtuosa” but just as a brawler. I just really, really love that match.”

The other one is Chris Jericho and Eddie Guerrero’s classic from WCW Fall Brawl 1997 for the Cruiserweight Championship. Purrazzo says she watches that for inspiration and says she puts it on anytime she’s looking for something with a variety of styles.

“The second match is Eddie Guerrero versus Chris Jericho at Fall Brawl ’97. I just think that’s such a good match of power and strength and tactical and Lucha. I’ve watched that match for years just for inspiration just to get me back into the love of wrestling when I feel like ‘ugh! I don’t want to watch anything!’ It’s really about thinking about what I can do, how I can reinvent myself over time, and it’s just one of my favorites.”

We added some free-to-watch recommendations to the list and selected a good mix of bouts from Deonna Purrazzo’s career, including the two she named as well as a Jericho vs. Guerrero rematch. Check out the full list of free-to-watch matches by clicking the link below:
