Kofi Kingston: ‘When The Time Is Right, I’ll Be Back’

Kofi Kingston appeared recently appeared on WWE’s The Bump. The former WWE Champion discussed his absence from the company and his thoughts on Big E’s singles run. Here are some highlights:

On his absence from the company:

Kingston: “I’m feeling pretty good, to be honest. You know, I’ve been working on my home gym, and it’s allowed me to kind of gradually get back in the swing of things. I’m trying not to push too hard, number one because I don’t want to suffer a setback, you know, and be out for even longer. And number two, I’m spending a lot of quantity and quality time with my family, so I’m just trying to enjoy that. And when the time is right, I’ll be back. And right now Big E’s holding it down, you know what I’m saying? So it’s all good and it’s an awesome thing to see him kind of doing his own thing and thriving at that. So yeah, it’s all about just taking my time in terms of getting back.”

“I’m at the age now where I’m a lot smarter with my body, so in terms of just coming back and just trying to rush back and get in there, it probably wouldn’t be the best option.”

On watching Big E thrive on his own:

Kingston: “It’s weird not to be there and to watch from the house, yeah, but no, it doesn’t feel weird to support him because we’re always supportive of each other, even when like Woods has not been with us.”

“We’re always with each other. We’ve stayed in constant contact through text and voice messages and just because you don’t see us in TV together doesn’t mean that we’re not vibing together.”

“Big E has always had that focus and drive. What we do for ourselves helps the entire group, and at the same time, we’re doing it for the entire group. So when we gave him our blessing, that was us just showing our full support because I think the whole WWE universe, along with us, we all believe that Big E deserves a shot.”
