Report: Script For WWE RAW Wasn’t Finished Until An Hour Into The Show

According to a report from Dave Meltzer, last night’s WWE Raw was indeed just that.

Meltzer stated on his latest “Wrestling Observer Radio” show that Vince McMahon was on the phone with creative all day before arriving at the Amway Center at 7 PM. By the time the script was finalized, Raw was already an hour in. A lot of the show was changed with most of it being throughout the day and some items finished up during the aforementioned airing of the program. The Underground segments were taped in the afternoon so much of that couldn’t be changed but one “fight” viewers missed was  Ivar vs. Bobby Lashley, something that was hyped a week in advance. For whatever reason, that was canceled (which was likely in the morning, speculates Meltzer). Ivar was a presence in the Underground segments, but not to the level he was originally booked for.

One matter that was locked in were the announced matches for WWE Payback so those four matches weren’t effected by McMahon’s “day-of” changes.
