Dominik Mysterio Reflects On Eddie Guerrero Pre-SummerSlam Debut

Dominik Mysterio was all goosebumps before his debut match at WWE SummerSlam last night against Seth Rollins and even though he was going to have his legendary father in his corner, he wished that he could’ve have his other “dad” in Eddie Guerrero watching along too.

“I wish Eddie was here. That would’ve been something else too man, I wish he was here to see this,” Dominik said in his hotel room before the show. “I think it would have been cool to his reaction to me debuting 15 years later from him and my dad having a match for me.”

Dominik notes the strong friendship between his dad and Eddie and how the late WWE Hall Of Famer would be apprehensive to stay at Rey’s home when WWE would come to the 619.

“Every time WWE would have house shows in San Diego he would stay at our house and he didn’t like to because I guess it was like something personal to him and staying in other people’s homes, like their own privacy and stuff, but my mom like forced him, that’s the Mexican in her, ‘No, no you have to come into our house.'”

The “Prince Mysterio” also told the WWE camera crew how kind Eddie was during their angle 15 years back as Guerrero and his pops fought for “custody” over him at SummerSlam 2005.

“He always treated me so well with all the stuff that we did in our angle so I think it would have just been cool to have him here you know. I don’t know if he would have still been wrestling, maybe he would have still been going hard, but man, that would’ve been cool to see.”
