Hearing Trial For Sonya Deville Stalker Set For This Week

Philip A. Thomas II, who was planning to kidnap Sonya Deville in her Florida home this past weekend will be having a pre-trial hearing this Thursday at 4:30 PM EST, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.

The hearing will determine whether the 24-year-old Thomas should be held without bail or if should be allowed to post bond to avoid incarceration. Thomas is being held at Hillsborough County Jail in Florida and faces charges of Aggravated Stalking, Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, Attempted Armed Kidnapping, and Criminal Mischief.

Thomas drove down to Lutz, FL from South Carolina on Saturday to arrive in Deville’s neighborhood on Sunday around midnight in which he idled outside of her home for several hours until breaking in. Deville’s security system sounded which prompted her and a guest to flee the premises and call 911. The police found Thomas still at the residence “carrying a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape, mace and other items and told deputies he was planning to take the homeowner hostage.”

Deville did send out an update on her Twitter, thanking everybody for their support through such a scary situation.

“Thank you everyone for your love and concern. A very frightening experience but thankfully everyone is safe. A special thank you to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for their response and assistance,” she Tweeted.
