In a matter of weeks, Shelton Benjamin has made a massive leap. He went from competing on WWE Main Event to regularly competing on WWE RAW. Now, he’s taken another step in the right direction. This week, Benjamin pinned WWE United States Champion Apollo Crews. Sure, the victory came with a huge assist from MVP and Bobby Lashley. But sooner rather than later, Benjamin could make his case for a title match.

After the bout, Lashley tried to attack Crews. But MVP stopped him because he didn’t want a repeat of WWE Extreme Rules. (Crews was unable to compete because Lashley attacked him on WWE RAW weeks before the match.) Crews still had the last laugh, as he dropped MVP with a stiff kick.
