Court Bauer Comments On Jacob Fatu Re-Signing With MLW

You best believe that MLW is more than pleased to have a major star like Jacob Fatu put pen to paper for their promotion. It was revealed yesterday that Fatu, the current MLW World Heavyweight Champion, signed a long-term deal with the company that would keep him under the MLW until late 2025.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reached out to MLW CEO Court Bauer for comment and Bauer makes note of the significant timing of the signing.

“What better way to kick off the second year of the MLW World Heavyweight Champion’s reign than a new long-term deal? To have Fatu locked up exclusively for what will essentially be the rest of his prime years in the sport is huge for the league, fans, Fatu and his family,” Bauer stated.

Fatu debuted with MLW back in early of 2019 and he rampaged through the rankings as soon as that July to secure the World Title against “Filthy” Tom Lawlor. Fatu has then went on to successfully defend the belt against the likes of LA Parka, Ross Von Erich, Brian Pillman Jr. and CIMA. Before the COVID-19 pandemic struck, Fatu and his CONTRA Unit did a hostile takeover of MLW and the champ looked to have his radar on the MLW 2019 Opera Cup Winner, Davey Boy Smith Jr.
