Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is reporting more in how Kenny Omega is being booked in AEW, both in the past and in the future.
It was reportedly always in the plan that Kenny Omega’s first year would be to help build other talent and solidify the tag division. However, now that AEW is approaching their second year of TV, things will likely be much different for Omega.
Omega is reportedly set to become a major singles star in AEW over the course of the next year. Kenny Omega has addressed fan concerns numerous times recently, saying that “just because things aren’t the same as they were in NJPW doesn’t mean I’m not finding success.”
Kenny said, “This isn’t about tooting my own horn, but it’s like I’m now helping run a company that has live television every Wednesday. I’m existing within a division of guys that are amongst the top of all the tag teams on all of the planet and showing that it takes more than just having a good, long singles match to be called the best in the world.”
