AJ Styles Retains IC Title Against Drew Gulak

AJ Styles suffered a surprising loss to Drew Gulak a couple of weeks ago, but when the WWE Intercontinental Championship was on the line tonight, Styles had no such trouble, taking down Gulak to retain his belt.

During his match against Gulak, Styles showed why he is a champion and legendary wrestler, taking down Gulak throughout most of the match and dominating him as the match went on. Things ended for Gulak when Styles landed the Styles Clash on Gulak, who was clearly done. However, Styles didn’t want to finish things just yet, instead using the ropes to prop up Gulak before landing a Phenomenal Forearm on him for the win.

Styles tosses Gulak out of the ring. Styles slams Gulak’s head into the apron. Gulak takes Styles over with a victory roll. Styles escapes and clotheslines Gulak. Styles locks Gulak in a rear chin lock. Gulak gets to his feet and makes it to the ropes. Styles kicks Gulak in the knee. Daniel Bryan speaks to Cole and Graves via Zoom. Bryan talks about how Gulak had prepared for this match tonight. Gulak tries to fire up but Styles cuts him off with a dragon screw. Styles works over Gulak’s injured leg. Gulak manages to lock Styles in a modified chin lock. Styles struggles to get to the ropes. Styles rolls out of the ring. As Styles tries to reenter, Gulak crushes him with a nasty baseball slide. Styles is sent flying.
