Donald Trump – reality television show host, President of the United States, and concerned friend to Vince McMahon.

Back in 2007, Vince McMahon tried to remove himself from WWE television by having his character, Mr. McMahon, meet an untimely demise when his limousine exploded on an episode of Raw. While the angle never went anywhere due to having to be canceled after the horrific tragedy involving Chris Benoit and the double murder-suicide that would take the lives of his wife and child as well as himself, there is at least one funny story that came out of the entire mess.

President Donald Trump legitimately called WWE headquarters back in 2007 to make sure that Vince McMahon was okay and that it was indeed a storyline for television. this was first revealed by Triple H back in 2016 but has resurfaced once again because the former head writer of WWE, Brian Gewirtz reminded everyone of this story in response to a tweet from the 45th President of the United States.

McMahon and Trump were actually on opposite ends of a WrestleMania match in 2007. Donald Trump was in the corner of Bobby Lashley when he defeated Umaga, who had Vince McMahon in his corner. The result of that match allowed Donald Trump to shave the head of Vince McMahon.

The two billionaires have been friends going back to the late 1980s when WWE utilized Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, New Jersey to host WrestleMania 4 and 5. In more recent years, Linda McMahon has been a part of Donald Trump’s presidential cabinet and Trump even named Vince McMahon as part of a coalition of advisors he was leaning on to help decide when to reopen the country after the global Coronavirus pandemic.
