Anonymous Donor Says ‘CTC RIP,’ Donates $40K To Shad Gaspard’s Family

Someone with a long memory of the late Shad Gaspard’s wrestling contributions just gave generously to a fundraiser in his honor. Donating $40,000 and boosting it over the $100,000 target, the donor’s message simply reads “CTC RIP.”

For those who don’t remember, CTC stands for Cryme Tyme Cenation, a short-lived WWE faction from 2008 that had Shad and JTG backing up John Cena as he feuded with JBL. Cultaholic’s Adam Pacitti was one of many who captured the message for prosperity on social media:

The message and the massive donation have led many to speculate that John Cena himself was the man who contributed. Because of the way GoFundMe operates, we can’t be sure, but it certainly makes sense, and he’s not the only generous giver. The Top Donors list also includes such names as Tony Khan, Cody and Brandi Rhodes, Frankie Kazarian and Traci Brooks, Court Bauer, Nattie Neidhart, and many more. Even if any of these are just wealthy fans paying their respects, Shad’s loved ones will certainly appreciate the gesture.

The Shad Gaspard Family Fund has raised almost $110,000 at the time of writing, just twelve hours after its creation. Whether it was through his contributions to the ring or his life as a father, it’s clear that many in our community wish to honor the inspiration that Shad Gaspard was in his all too brief stay on Planet Earth.
