Shad Gaspard may be gone, but Brooklyn’s Beast will not be forgotten. The wrestling world has come together to celebrate the life of the former WWE star turned Hollywood talent and one of the men to pay his respects was longtime friend and WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry. Gaspard sacrificed his life to save his son as he and a group of swimmers were caught in a rip tide current at Venice Beach on Sunday afternoon.
Like many of Gaspard’s colleagues, Henry took to social media to share his memories of Shad and suggested for WWE to honor his life with a Warrior Award. The WWE Warrior Award is something that takes place every year during the company’s Hall Of Fame ceremony and Gaspard would be the first wrestler to receive the honor if WWE takes note of Henry’s nomination.
“I’m going to miss my brother! Even when roasting me for my taste in shorts! Warrior award nominee a true Hero,” Henry Tweeted out.

Gaspard and his family are also getting support from Al Snow’s Collar & Elbow brand. CxE has created a Gaspard tee to commemorate Shad and 100% of the proceeds will go to his family. Take a look at the tee below & a link to purchase is here. If you’d just like to donate any denomination to support Gaspard’s family during this time, you can do so via PayPal at [email protected].
