Former WWE Writers Detail Psycho-Inspired Mickie James Segment That Was Cut

We’ve heard some crazy stories from some former WWE writers in the past, and Brian Gewirtz and Alex Greenfield have given us some more recently. Taking to social media, Gewirtz reminisced on a segment that almost saw Mickie James interacting with a skeleton in her lead up to WrestleMania.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, Gewirtz told fans a brief story about another idea that was pitched back in the day. According to Gewirtz, prior to WrestleMania 22, the writers had a planned segment for Mickie Jamies where she would cut a promo in her house that would eventually end up revealing the skeleton of her grandfather sitting in a rocking chair. James’ grandfather was deceased in real life, and while the segment did end up happening, it was tweaked to have no skeleton.

Responding to the initial tweet, Alex Greenfield chimed in, saying that the crew had even gone so far as to acquire the skeleton for the segment. According to the writer, the plan was to do a gag similar to the end of “Psycho,” but that it was spiked for some reason that he cannot remember. However, he did end things by noting that it was still his favorite shoot of the entire program.
