AJ Styles Wins Last Chance Gauntlet, Added To Money In The Bank Ladder Match

This week on WWE Monday Night RAW, several competitors vied for Apollo Crews’ spot in the Men’s Money in the Bank match. Crews lost his spot last week when he got hurt in a match with Andrade. This week, the winner of a Last Chance gauntlet match would earn Crews’ spot. AJ Styles returned to WWE RAW and won the match by last eliminating Humberto Carrillo.

Bobby Lashley and Titus O’Neil started the match but Lashley easily pinned O’Neil with a spear. Akira Tozawa was the next man out, but Lasheley quickly eliminated him with a Spear, too. Shelton Benjamin came to the ring and hit Lashley with a Blockbuster. Lashley slammed Benjamin into a barricade and eliminated him with a Spear. Humberto Carrillo entered the match but Lashley overpowered him. Carrillo rallied and hit a moonsault for a two count. The referee disqualified Lashley because he put his hands on the official. Lashley attacked Carrillo and Speared him.

Angel Garza was the next entrant and took control of the match. Garza drilled Carrillo with a dropkick and grounded him. A superkick rocked Carrillo, and he tried to rally. But Garza maintained control and hit a springboard moonsault. Carrillo rolled up Garza and eliminated him. Austin Theory entered the match. He grounded Carrillo, and countered a springboard corssbody with a stiff punch in the face. Carrillo rolled up Theory after a superplex and eliminated him.

AJ Styles entered the match and drilled Carrillo with stiff knees to the midsection and grounded him. The Phenomenal One targeted Carrillo’s leg and neutralized his high-flying offense. Carrillo planted Styles with a DDT and rocked him with a kick. Carrillo rolled Styles up for a two count. Styles made Carrillo tap to the Calf Crusher to win the match.

Styles attacked Carrillo after the match and slammed his leg into the ring post. The Phenomenal One vowed to do whatever it takes to win the Money in the Bank match.
