Report: The Elite Deletion Match Is ‘Under Consideration’ By AEW

‘Broken’ Matt Hardy issued a challenge for an ‘Elite Delete’ match on AEW Dynamite last night but the match isn’t exactly confirmed at this point.

Hardy responded to Chris Jericho’s hot tub promo and invited him to the Hardy Compound for the Elite Deletion match; a confirmation for the match and when it might air was not announced. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW is still taking the match under consideration and hasn’t given it the greenlight just yet. Meltzer noted that the match is “not a sure thing, it’s just under consideration”, adding that he did ask about the match status and it was still absolutely on the table.

It’s worth noting that many states are currently under a stay-at-home or safer-at-home order due to the coronavirus pandemic; North Carolina is currently under the stay-at-home ordinance until April 29 so it’s unclear how or when they could film the match before then.
