Randy Orton Says He Saved Edge’s Life, RKOs Beth Phoenix

This week on WWE RAW, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix gave an update on the condition of her husband, Edge. Several weeks ago, Randy Orton viciously attacked Edge when the legend returned to WWE RAW. Orton immediately interrupted Phoenix.

The Viper extended his hand to Phoenix, who refused to shake it. She called Orton a “son of a b—-.” Orton called it a certainty that Edge will never wrestle again. The Viper said he’s going to give Phoenix an explanation. Orton took a trip down memory lane and recalled the first time he met Edge. The Viper said, during that meeting, Edge wished him luck on his dream of becoming a wrestler. Orton recapped his relationship with Edge and the heights they reached. He described how Edge saved him from a dark time in his life. Orton said Edge saved his life, so he returned the favor.

The Viper said he realized that Edge thought he was back for good, which would have ruined Edge’s personal life. “I did it because I love Edge, I love you and I love your two little girls,” said Orton. The Viper said the attack on Edge isn’t Orton’s fault because Phoenix enabled him. “Edge is a junkie for the roar of the crowd, and you did nothing to stop it, so I had to step in because I love him like a brother,” said Orton.

Orton wasn’t done yet. “I love Edge more than you ever could,” said Orton. “Truth hurts, don’t it?” Phoenix wiped away tears and slapped Orton. The Viper hit Phoenix with an RKO and left the ring.

Natalya, Curt Hawkins, Rey Mysterio, R-Truth, Zack Ryder and others tended to Phoenix as the show went off off the air.
