John Cena Talks His Decision To Stop Rapping In WWE

WWE Superstar John Cena was a highlight of the recent WWE Network series “Ruthless Aggression”, a documentary that covers this historic time in WWE.

During the second episode of the series, John Cena went into detail about the decision to stop rapping during the shows.

Cena said, “I had a personality that attached to the people who were watching, but then slowly the people who were watching changed and they began to be more kids and more families to come to these events. And I saw it happen. I didn’t need a sheet of analytics. I can see it. So I said, this is it. We’re changing up right now. I remember going into Vince’s office and said, ‘I have to stop rapping.'”

John would go on to say he was the ‘scapegoat’ for fans to blame someone for the product being drastically different from the Attitude Era. What do you think about Cena’s reason for putting the rap game to an end? Let us know in the comments below.
