Knox News put up a great interview with NXT TakeOver: Portland star Bianca Belair. The NXT title challenger discussed her love of wrestling, making her own gear, and her appearance at the Royal Rumble.

Why she’s perfect for wrestling and vice versa:
I feel like it’s a perfect fit for me as far as it uses my athleticism. It uses my creativity because I make my own gear. I’m able to sew. I’m able to perform. I’m able to be an entertainer.
I just feel like I’m able to use every single part of my body and my talents for this, and it even brought me my husband (WWE’s Montez Ford). I met my husband the first year I started in NXT, and so it’s completely changed my life as far as career wise, personal [and] social.
Why she makes her own gear:
Once I got into WWE, I knew what I wanted, but it was hard for me to relate it to a seamstress or a gear maker, and I always like to do things myself. That’s how I am. I’m very hands on.
On what the Royal Rumble meant to her:
I feel like I’ve been down here putting on good matches, and I feel like I’ve been proving myself time after time with different takeovers and for me, Royal Rumble was validation to what I’ve been doing. I’ve been down here killing it, and I want to show everybody else that. I want everybody else to know who Bianca Belair is.
