Angel Garza Debuts On RAW, DDTs Rey Mysterio On Concrete

This week on WWE RAW, Angel Garza made his debut on the red brand as Zelina Vega’s new client. He confronted Humberto Carrillo, and Rey Mysterio came to Carrillo’s aid. Mysterio and Garza competed in a competitive match. But Garza hit Mysterio with a DDT on exposed concrete, so the match ended in a disqualification. Officials tended to the possibly injured Mysterio.

Garza is best known for his tenure with Lucha Libre AAA; he also worked for IMPACT Wrestling in 2017 and 2018 as Garza Jr, teaming with Laredo Kid. It was announced in April 2019 that Garza had signed with WWE and he was later part of the bracket in the NXT Breakout Tournament, making his TV debut on June 26. Garza beat Joaquin Wilde in the first round, but lost to Jordan Myles to exit the tournament.

Garza is a former NXT Cruiserweight Champion, defeating Lio Rush on December 11, 2019. He held the title until January 25, 2020 where he lost to Jordan Devlin at WWE Worlds Collide in a fatal four-way match that also featured Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and Travis Banks.
