Roman Reigns Looks Back On His 2019: ‘It Was Just Really Nice To See The Positivity Of The World Still’

Maria Menounos was the special guest ring announcer for Roman Reigns’ New Year’s Eve match against Dolph Ziggler and she was interviewed post-match to get her thoughts on the energy that was in the arena. She was then joined by Roman who reflected on his tumultuous 2019. Roman spoke on how fans put the polarization of WWE aside to support Joe Anoa’i and how much that meant to him. He also has some great goals lined up for 2020:

“Just maintaining great health, enjoying the little moments, working hard and helping others and just taking it to the next level. Just continually trying to raise the star, get better at this entertainment gig and hopefully just continue how to learn new trades and figure out how to just keep being, next level stuff, baby! 2020’s big.”

Roman then had a message for fans as he closed out 2019:

“My life wouldn’t be the way it is without you guys. There’s a lot of people for me to thank, countless people back here, but when it comes down to it, the fans that pay their hard-earned money, take the time out of their busy schedules. If it’s not for you guys, the most passionate fanbase in the whole world, the WWE Universe, I wouldn’t be in the position that I am now. I wouldn’t be the man that I am now I wouldn’t be the provider that I am, so it’s just a lifelong of thank yous that I owe you and I’ll never stop. Even when we’re being a tough guy Roman Reigns out there, it’s nothing but love and just blessings in my mind and I’m so grateful to be in this position.”
